Louis XVI Mahogany Secrétaire à Abattant

#9990FP. Circa 1820. France. This neo-classic fall-front secretary not only has the beauty of Louis XVI style furniture but is very practical for modern living. It is perfect for small spaces, yet still provides a lot of storage and a large desk surface quite suitable for a laptop computer. It was hand made in France of mahogany with brass mounts and a beautifully figured marble top. It has 3 large drawers (1 above and 2 below the desk section) as well as 6 small drawers with 2 shelves and 2 cubbies in the desk compartment. The fall front has a working original lock and key. Condition: minor dings, scratches, and stains commensurate with age and patina. Restored finish done about 75 years ago. 38" wide x 58" tall x 17" deep (when closed). $3,200.00.
