#6738FP. Circa 1810. France. Mahogany and mahogany veneer with oak secondary wood and ormolu mounts - painted faux marble top. More than fifty years ago the exceptionally beautiful faux marble top on this 4 drawer chest replaced the original marble. The proportions, ormolu mounts, and flame mahogany on this commode combine to make this an outstanding piece. Condition: excellent - minor wear on the paint - minor restoration has been done in our cabinet shop to the drawer slides and to the French polish.
