Louis Philippe Small Chest
#9994FP. Circa 1835. France. This early 19th Century French small chest is not only beautiful and stylish, but it is useful as well. Perfect as a bedside piece or next to a chair or sofa in the living room or in the foyer. It is handmade of bookmatched mahogany veneer with French oak secondary wood. The hardware is hand cast solid brass. Especially fine are the lion-head pulls and neoclassic escutcheons. The petite commode has 2 drawers with a 2-door compartment below.. It comes with a key which operates the lock on both drawers and on the door. Old repairs, dings, and scratches commensurate with age. Restored finish.
