Cherry Queen Anne Highboy
#9921FZ. Circa:1760. Connecticut. This highboy is ready to make a statement in living room, dining room, hall or bedroom -- wherever beauty is wanted. Its 10 drawers give it great functionality for storage space while taking up minimal floor space. Its age, having survived some 250 years, makes it a piece of American history. A wonderful intersection of beauty, utility and history to make any owner proud. The dimensions, especially its height, reflect the low ceilings of bedrooms in colonial Connecticut. The piece is strong and sturdy with a beautiful patina to its old finished cherry wood. The secondary woods are a mix of woods indigenous to the region. The style-appropriate replacement brass hardware was probably put on in the early 20th Century. Refinished about 100 years ago. Old repair to left front leg. Replaced hand-carved acorn finials. Cracks from shrinkage, minor dings, light scratches, and dents commensurate with age. Replaced solid brass hand-forged hardware. 38.5" wide x 19.5" deep x 71" tall. $4,200.00.
