Regency Sarcophagus Form Tea Caddy
9351AB. Circa 1815. England. This neoclassic tea caddy's design was inspired by the sarcophagus found in excavations in Greece, Minos and Egypt in the late 18th century. It is made of plum pudding mahogany with satinwood string inlay. The box has two lidded compartments with bone pulls. The inside of the lid is lined with original quilted dark green velvet. The key, lock, and hinges appear to be original. Very good condition with minor old repairs. 5"deep x 8.5"wide x 8"tall. $935.00
