Pair of Grand Tour Bronze Tazzas on Marble Plinths
#9900AP. Circa 1890. Italy. This pair of hand-cast bronze Edwardian tazzas on Sienna marble plinths were copied from Classical ancient Roman/Greek urns being excavated all over the former Roman Empire. The casting of the details of the urns and their applied handles is excellently crafted. The Sienna marble is a rich tan with dark veins throughout. The marble sits on a bronze base with an acanthus border. They are perfect for the mantel, console, or commode and are excellent as bases for small topiaries. Excellent condition -- only flaw is that inside the bowl of one there are scuff marks and signs of wear. Dimensions each: 6.75" wide x 5" deep x 8.5" tall. The pair: $1,800.00.
